Second Prolimit shoot, finally in the water! 24/06/2011
Well I met up with Johara yesterday and we had a three hour session at West Shore. The weather was lovely, a large cloud bank moved over to start with so we had sun and cloudy spells, which had me changing exposures and WB on the fly. The second part of the session involved me finally shooting from the water. I've been planning this for ages, but never really had the opportunity until now. One of Jo's mates brought along a nice black and pink wetsuit for me! It enabled me to get in the water with the waterproof housing I have from Aquapac and the second session graced us with constant sunshine. A bit of practice is needed with the casing, as some of the shots had the lens piece creeping into view, but it shouldn't take long to master. The prospect of some rad images is much higher shooting from this perspective, rather than from the shoreline, and I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of images I can produce. I'll just put this image up quickly now, and I'll hopefully get to editing this evening after work. There could be quite a few images to go up into an album. I have now added the final images of the shoot with Johara for Prolimit to the album. Click on the link to visit the album and view the images. http://www.jonathancarre.org.uk/150611-prolimit.html Prolimit Shoot 16/06/2011
I was down at West Shore today with Johara shooting some portraits for one of her sponsors, Prolimit. I'm really happy with the way the images turned out. An overcast day actually worked quite well with this set I think. To see the set visit the new album in the Sports galleries or follow the link to go straight there. http://www.jonathancarre.org.uk/150611-prolimit.html Over the next few days I will also be editing a shoot that I shot last night for Halfords and Voodoo. A quick glance over the images earlier today has me believing that there may be some nice images to edit from that shoot as well. All in all a productive week so far. Published 16/04/2011
Well, I now have a copy of Kitesurf Magazine, with the printed article that Johara Sykes-Davies and I produced for the mag. There is a copy of the article on the new Publications page along with an image that was chosen to accompany the contents page spread in the same issue (May 2011, issue 65). Head over to the Publications page to see the full 3 page article and contents image, or go out and buy the mag, it looks even better in print! Busy times 16/03/2011
Not that I'm complaining, it means I have work to do and stuff to keep me occupied. Kitesurf article - I had a shoot with Johara yesterday, and we have one penciled in for tomorrow too, fingers crossed for the weather. We are currently co-writing an article for Kitesurf magazine next month, I won't post any of the images up until the issue has been published, but I will say that I am quite excited about tomorrow's shoot, it is something we have had planned for a while (I just hope it turns out close to what I have in my head). 2011 HALO BDS - I have just received confirmation of my media pass for the 2011 HALO British Downhill Series. Round 1 is this weekend at Nant Gwrtheyrn, so I shall be spending Saturday and Sunday with some of the world's elite DH racers. Expect the images to appear towards the middle of next week. Grey Seals - I spent half an hour or so this morning with our local Grey Seal colony. The forecast was for sunshine so I was hoping for some nice early morning light, unfortunately what I got was a grey overcast morning. Nevertheless I got some images out of the session and you can view them in the Grey Seals gallery (link below). I would love a quiet word with the two people on a jet ski who came right into the bay with a video camera though, they freaked the resting colony out and half of them made a break for the water in near panic. Actions like this jeopardise the future of a breeding colony and I would hate for the seals to find a different breeding location in the future because of the irresponsible actions of a few individuals.
